El día 20 de Octubre, la familia Arriaga Castilla me vinieron a visitar en Gender Reveal HD Ultrasound. Platicamos que la familia ya hicieron su anuncio familiar por Facebook juntos con calabazas del otoño que ya esperaban una hermanita. La niña Dayana ya llevaba 19 semanas 2 días de edad de gestación. Estuvo cabeza abajo y les enseñé su piecito que midió 3 cm de largo. Su corazoncito latía a 153 latidos al minuto. Le revisé cada parte de la bebé y noté que tuvo todo sus órganos incluso sus dos riñones. Le dije que está gorda la bebé. Se rió Itzi. Le dije que ya le había quitado las náuseas. Por curiosidad le pregunté a Itzi si había aumentado peso. Me dijo que sí la última vez que fue al doctor una libra. Le pregunté que peso había puesto su doctor que aumentara. Me dijo, "No, el solo me dice 'Estás bien, no te preocupes todo bien'." Le terminé de medir la panza de la bebé y le dije que está media gordita. La pancita de Dayana midió a 20 semanas 3 días. "Uyyy, una semana más!" exclamó Itzi. Terminé de medirla y pesó 11 onzas con un día más de gestación. "Siempre sigue siendo niña, no ha echado cola," le dije. Prendí el 3D y exclama Itzi, "¡Mira la carita! ¡Mira! ¡Mira la nariz!" Noté que tuvo los labios completos. "¡Mira, Luis Mario!" le dice Manolo a su único barón. "Tiene la boca grande," comentó Itzi. "Si, ahorita no tiene mucha grasa ella. Once onzas. Menos que una lata de cocacola. Ya después más cachetes," le expliqué. "Vas a ser celosa?" le pregunta Manolo a Ximena. Ximena dijo que no porque va a llorar y necesitar de ella. "Mira, Luis Mario las manitas de la bebé," dijo Itzi. "Te está saludando," agregó Manolo. "Hola, bebé," dijo Ximenita, "está durmiendo papá?" "Y cómo se siente Luis Mario?" le pregunté a Itzi, recordando de la lagrimita que lloró la última visita. "Bueno, le entró un rato que no quería nada con niñas. 'No quiero jugar con niñas - no girls allowed.' Hizo su club de niños y no dejó que jugaran las niñas hasta que hablé con él y le dije que eso no podía hacer porque tiene que jugar con todos los amiguitos. Pero de repente el le dice a su papá 'Vámonos tú y yo, vamos a día de hombre'. Pero conmigo es muy cariñoso, me toca la panza, le habla, le canta," dijo Itzi. No se me mueve mucho," me dijo Itzi. "¿Cuando la empezaste a sentir?" le pregunté. Itzi sentía como poco movimiento cuando le dije que era niña y después ya a las 15 semanas empezó sentir golpecitos. "Hay días que no la siento para nada. Y de repente no para." La creo a Itzi que siente a Dayana porque solo hay 2.5 cm entre su matriz y la piel de la pancita de Itzi. "Mira la gordis. Tiene la manito como tú, Ximena. Dile 'Ya venga a jugar conmigo y con Papi'." Itzi le dijo a Ximena. "¡Te dejo mis muñecos!" exclama Ximena. "'Te los voy a regalar' dile," dijo Manolo. "Te los voy a regalar," dijo con ternura la pequeña Ximenita. "'Te los voy a regalar todos mis juguetes'," dijo Manolo. "Todos mis juguetes," le repite la Ximenita. The Life of a Pregnant Woman: The Halfway Mark On October 20th, the Arriaga Castilla family came to visit me at Gender Reveal HD Ultrasound. We chatted about the family already having made their family announcement on Facebook together with Halloween pumpkins that they are expecting a little sister. Baby girl Dayana was already 19 weeks 2 days gestational age. She was head down and I showed them her little foot which measured 3 cm in length. Her heart rate was 153 beats per minute. I checked every part of the baby and noted that she had all her organs including her two kidneys. I told her the baby is fat. Itzi laughed. I told her that her nausea must’ve gone away. Out of curiosity I asked Itzi if she had gained weight. She said yes, the last time she went to the doctor a pound. I asked her how much weight her doctor wanted her to gain. She said, "No, he just says 'You're fine, don't worry, everything's fine.'" I finished measuring her baby's belly and told her she is a little fat. Dayana's belly measured 20 weeks 3 days. "Ooooh, a week more!" exclaimed Itzi. I finished measuring her and she weighed 11 ounces measuring at one more day of gestational age. "She is still a girl, she hasn't grown a tail," I said. I turned on the 3D and Itzi exclaimed, "Look at the little face! Look! Look at the nose!" I noted that she her lips were whole. "Look, Luis Mario!" Manolo tells his only son. "She has a big mouth," Itzi said. "Yes, she doesn't have much fat right now. Eleven ounces. Less than a can of Coca Cola. Later she will have fatter cheeks," I explained. "Are you going to be jealous?" Manolo asked Ximena. Ximena said no because she is going to cry and need her. "Look, Luis Mario, the baby's little hands," said Itzi. "She's waving at you," Manolo added. "Hello, baby," said Ximenita, "is she sleeping, daddy?" "And how does Luis Mario feel?" I asked Itzi, remembering the tear that he cried the last visit. "Well, for a while he didn't want anything to do with girls. 'I don't want to play with girls - no girls allowed.' He made his club for boys and didn't let the girls play until I talked to him and told him that he couldn't do that because he has to play with all of his little friends. Suddenly Dayana jumped and Itzi felt her! "She’s very still. She doesn't move much," Itzi told me. "When did you start feeling her?" I asked. Itzi was feeling a little movement when I told her it was a girl and then after 15 weeks she began to feel tapping. "There are days that I don't feel her at all. And suddenly she doesn't stop." I believe Itzi feels Dayana because there is only 2.5 cm between the womb and the skin of Itzi's belly. "Look at that fat girl. She has her little hand like yours, Ximena. Tell her 'Come and play with me and Daddy'." Itzi told Ximena. "I’ll give you my dolls!" Ximena exclaims. "'I'm going to give them to you,' tell her," Manolo said. "I'm going to give them to you," said little Ximena tenderly. "'I'm going to give you all my toys,'" Manolo said. "All my toys," little Ximena repeated him.
